We’re located right on the Oregon Trail, so it’s only natural that Legacy of the Plains always finds itself right in the middle of the action on Oregon Trail Days. The Saturday morning parade, the centerpiece of the festival, always includes some of our historic vehicles. The Don Childs Memorial Run passes right by our front gate, and the Scotts Bluff Bicycle Hill Climb takes place right next door. Following the Saturday morning parade, the museum is hosting a family barbeque Gering’s biggest annual summer celebration also features live music, street fairs, crafts, barbecue cookouts, and much more.
