Have you ever wanted to learn to drive a team of horses? Now you can! Here at Legacy of the Plains Museum, we offer a two day annual beginning teamster and draft horse driving clinic on Saturday, June 3 and Sunday, June 4. This workshop is instructed by:
Lynn Meyer – Belgian horse breeder and teamster
Harlan & Tammy Grunden – Morgan horse breeder & National Champion winner
As well as experienced drivers, such as:
Rick Henderson
Dave & Kim Henson
Max Cawiezel
Here’s the lineup: You start out Saturday morning with registration, along with some coffee to get you going. The first part of the morning is classroom-style presentations followed by an afternoon of demonstrations, followed by hands-on instruction. The rest of the workshop is hands-on driving and harnessing. One of the favorite parts is driving a team through an obstacle course at the end.
The cost? Only $100. This includes the two day workshop as well as lunch provided by museum volunteers on both days.
