The annual meeting of Legacy of the Plains Museum members will take place on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at the Gering Civic Center. The doors open at 6 p.m. for social time, dinner begins at 6:30 p.m., and the business meeting and program will begin after the meal, likely around 7:15 p.m.
The meal costs $15 per person. The menu is a buffet of roast beef, au gratin potatoes, green beans, and salad.
Members and nonmembers alike are welcome, but everyone planning to attend is asked to RSVP no later than Monday, March 10, so we know how much space we will need. Please call 308-436-1989 or stop by the museum to make your reservation.
The meeting agenda will include:
- Volunteer of the year award
- Officer reports
- Election of board members
- Update on Legacy of the Plains project
- Program: EDA presentation on interpretive plan
That last item is sure to stir up excitement. A year has passed since museum members were introduced to Exhibit Design Associates of Estes Park, CO—the design team hired to assist in developing all-new exhibits for Legacy of the Plains Museum. At the annual meeting program, EDA will give a presentation on the interpretive design concept plan recently approved by the museum’s Board of Directors. This document is not a final plan for exhibits. Rather, it lays out a roadmap for further work on exhibit design. This exhibit development process has taken and will continue to take an incredible amount of work, but this work will pay off when the museum’s top-notch exhibits are up and running.
We hope to see you at the annual meeting!
