Site E—Homesteads/Farmsteads

Site D tells the story of the private lives of our early settlers with the Gentry Log Cabin, 1890s, and the Wiedeman House, 1930s and 1950s.  They are amazing attractions and always get great reviews.  The best part is having the families still involved with the museum and they are able to tell their stories to our visitors.  The additions will fill some holes we have in our histories, especially the school house/church.  The expansion of the corrals, potato cellar, and outhouse will add to our already excellent farmstead.

FUTURE PLANS:

Restore a two-story long cabin into a church/school room

In the Wiedeman Farmstead, we could like to add a potato cellar and an WPA era outhouse.  We also want to expand the corrals.

CURRENT FEATURES:

Wiedeman Farmstead (house, barn, grain bin, and long shed) and Gentry Log Cabin
