In order to make crops grow, you need water. For certain types of crops, you need a regular supply of water. To help the farmers, the Pathfinder Dam in Wyoming was constructed and throughout the North Platte Valley, irrigation canals and smaller dams have been erected to divert the much needed water to the fields. Starting with the early days of setting tubes, it has emerged to the center pivots more commonly seen today. Some of the crops grown by irrigated farming techniques include potatoes, corn, dry edible beans and sugar beets.
