Read Across America – Nebraska’s 150 Challenge

Here at Legacy of the Plains, we love to promote education and enrichment. With yesterday being National Read Across America Day and to many, Dr. Seuss Week, we felt it appropriate to share the Nebraska’s 150 Reading Challenge!

Throughout Nebraska’s Sesquicentennial year, our wonderful state is promoting Nebraska literature by encouraging visitors to read book about Nebraska and by Nebraskan authors. The challenge is read 150 books! If you think you are up to the challenge, we encourage you to give it a try! Some of the books are available for sale in the museum’s Gift Barn.

“The goal of the Nebraska 150 Reading Challenge is to draw attention to the best literature produced from Nebraska and to highlight the varied cultures, historical time periods and locations that are featured in the selected books. These books will contribute to a greater understanding of our shared history.”  -Nebraska 150 Reading Challenge
